Discover adventure and challenge with our Mountaineering Club at Loughborough, welcoming climbers of all levels to explore the great outdoors. Whether you're a beginner eager to try climbing or an experienced adventurer seeking new heights, our club offers an exhilarating blend of outdoor pursuits and community spirit.
The Loughborough Students’ Mountaineering Club invites everyone passionate about climbing, hiking, walking or any other outdoor activities to join a dynamic and inclusive community.
The club offers a diverse range of climbing disciplines, including multi-pitch and single-pitch traditional climbing, indoor and outdoor sport climbing, and indoor and outdoor bouldering.
The club provides access to an extensive inventory of climbing equipment, including, but not limited to, bouldering mats and trad racks, which are free to borrow by our members, ensuring that beginners and seasoned climbers alike can fully engage with the club.
Get involved by joining day trips out in the Peak District, or come along to one of our weekend trips to places such as the Lakes, Snowdonia, Pembrokeshire, and South Wales.

Athletic Union (AU)
Loughborough Students’ Mountaineering Club welcomes adventurers of all abilities and offers a friendly, supportive community for outdoor enthusiasts.
The club focuses on bouldering, sport and traditional climbing, with weekly sessions at The Climbing Station and regular trips for climbing, hiking and scrambling. Members can also compete in BUCS and regional competitions.
Join us on Wednesdays for bouldering at Loughborough’s local climbing gym, or Mondays for weekly sport climbing sessions outside Loughborough. We also run regular strength and conditioning sessions to help members develop their skills and fitness.
With no experience required and access to an extensive equipment inventory, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved, explore the outdoors and meet like-minded people.
